August’s pick is The Road by Cormac McCarthy.

(Our first fiction recommendation.)

Why it made the list: It’s a moving story about love and the responsibility we all carry to keep moving forward, no matter the challenges we face. McCarthy’s story reminds us that perseverance and care for others are what help us endure and find meaning, even in the toughest times.
